DIY Nutty for Nuts Bracelet

This is the month for DIY projects and where crafts come alive. This was first on my list. Nuts braided into a bracelet Ive seen it all over and I just had to do it for myself to see how it turned out.                          Here are some of the materials I used      *6 strands of colored twine- I doubled up for thickness. (wrapped around my wrist twice with some slack- length)                    *16 small hex nuts
With thicker string you won't have to double the the braiding. Tightly tie the braid from the knot leave some slack at the top.
From the left slid the nut up the braid. Hold on tight to the left two strands with your thumb so the nut stays in place.
Before braiding thread another nut throughout the right string. Holding them in place then cross over the right and continue to braid through ought.
Finish the bracelet with the same amount of braid at the ends (about an inch).
Making sure the braiding is nice and tight is the key to keeping all of the nuts in place.
I added a slip knot  to each end so I can easily slip it on and off and could even adjust to a wider wrist.
TaDa!!! After showing these to some friends Ive already have orders in.

DIY Week continued Charm me

Once I started I just couldn't stop. Here are some more DIY charm bracelets.
I had some random old necklaces and charms saved up for a rainy day (or snowy day) here are the results of the what was made.
Necklace made into a bracelet, I added and took some charms from it to make it my own. Fun!! I love the vintage style of it, down to the floral details.
Enjoy!!

Valentino Haute Couture 2012

Is life a dream, certainly on this day it was. I could just see myself melting if I ever had a chance of putting on a piece of Valentino especially in this collection. Im just a little obsessed with the 18th-19th c vintage style anything that surrounds Marie Antoinettes style. Each piece has an ample amount of hand embroidered detail which took 1,200 hours to complete. Not to mention the fabulous detail collared bow ties and placement of floral on the gown, detail detail detail.(tear)

Step Right Up

It only took me 1 week 4 days and so many hours to search for the perfect shoe. I don't know if its the move to Brazil in June or our trip to Cancun in a few weeks but I needed something high, black, edgy and beach worthy. Here are a few of my picks. The lucky pair is on its way (pics to come).

nail'n it

My birthday nails. The pink/purple color is a little off it's a more plumb. It reminded me of the new  Nicki Minaj collection that came out. I wouldn't expect anything less from her... Usually I only like one or two of the set this one, love them all.

Cancun on the Horizon

The snow is just falling here in Michigan today and I thought whats better then to cuddle up in bed and shop for bathing suites and coverups to get me feeling all nice and warm. I am always a fan of mix and matching especially bikinis such as in these intricate patterns and animal print. The patterns and animal print are so fun in both of these 2012 collections.
This collection from Cia.Maritima beachwear has so many patterns weaving in and out of each other from animal print to geometric shapes. It complements the very Greek style lightness of the fabric and jeweled plunging v neck of the coverups.
Im thinking super beach bum, pulled back hair turban style, over sized relaxed cropped top on the beach and maxi off the beach. This just screams warm sun beaming with a small ocean breeze.

Colors of Brazil

One of the many sweets of Brazil, Copacabana Beach Rio Janeiro
Walking down Copacabana Beach. In the middle of everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The Ocean to my right and the dense city to my left.
Every time I travel to Brazil I can not keep from marveling at the favelas as we pass by.
One of the many faces of Brazil.
Sailing by, Ilhabela, Brazil.
Up UP UP UP in the air.
Our view how wonderfully beautiful.
One day I will live some place where all we do is ride bikes.
